At Beyond Tutoring I provide bespoke lessons with a holistic approach to meet the child’s needs beyond just an academic focus.
Tailored sessions will meet the child where they are at, incorporating movement and sensory breaks, following their interests and weaving learning into the sessions in a purposeful and engaging way.
Hi I am Jo at Beyond Tutoring.
I'm a qualified teacher (B.Ed Hons) with over 20 years experience, working with ages 4 to 13 years and a specialism in Early Years, KS1 & Art. I can deliver learning skills for any age pupil working at a primary level in Maths, English, Science and any other primary subjects that they are interested in.
In recent years I have further developed my understanding and experience of children that have more specific educational needs and I’m passionate about delivering learning activities that are adaptive and work for the individual.
As well as the academic subjects, I can offer additional learning opportunities through arts & crafts, baking & cooking skills, science experiments, physical activities, imaginary play and child-led creativity. Supportive emotional strategies are always at the heart of my sessions and my home learning base includes a sensory/classroom and outdoor learning space!

Jo is such an inspiring tutor, the planning and thought that go into the lessons she teaches is impeccable. My son had the best time with Jo, so eager to return each week, the lessons were engaging, educational and most of all (for me and my son) they were fun... so much so, it just didn’t feel like learning, but it absolutely was. Already we’ve put the popcorn lesson to good use, which was not only practical but used maths and problem solving skills.
